a little wet

I'm getting pretty wet, too. It's a bit windy and that carries the mist pretty far.
We started Thursday with a very nice breakfast at IHOP, followed by a stop at a Lee Valley store.  Lee Valley is a company that sells high end tools for the avid woodworker and John has been a satisfied customer over the years.  He didn’t find anything he couldn’t live without (or didn’t already have), but it was nice to see everything in person, rather than in a catalog.

We then headed for the primary reason for the route we chose to get to Maine.  Niagara Falls was impressive, to say the least.  It happened that the mist coming off the falls was pretty heavy and obscured part of the view, but it was still amazing.  The mist was also picked up and carried by a breeze, getting us pretty wet as we walked down to get the best view.  After purchasing a couple of souvenirs, we were ready to hit the road again.

We had lots of time to get to our next hotel, so we took a nice drive along the southern shore of Lake Ontario.  I was on a mission to put my feet in the lake, so we watched for a place with public access. The first prospect that looked promising was a public park that was quite lovely, but it turned out the beach was fenced off and closed.  A few miles later, however, we found another small beach open to the public next to a historic lighthouse.  Mission accomplished!
