This morning we hiked the Ship Harbor Trail and then drove out to the Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse. In the afternoon, Grandma and Grandpa stayed with the little kids while the adult kids went out for a more strenuous (not kid friendly) hike. They ended up going to the top of Pemetic Mountain. That wasn't their original intent, and I don't quite understand exactly how it happened, but it seems one thing led to another and before they knew it, there they were. Apparently the way down the other side was much more challenging, but they didn't know it until it was too late. They all made it back in one piece and quite impressed with themselves. But, no, none of them want to do it again.
Since they came back later than planned and a little worse for wear, dinner consisted of takeout tonight.
